Rakesh Patel, M.D., has been with Neighborhood Healthcare for more than 15 years. He started as a staff family physician in 2002 and was later promoted to Medical Director of Operations before assuming his current role as CEO in November 2017. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Patel has worked to successfully bridge the gaps between operational and clinical staff. He has been integral in improving care delivery and ensuring high clinical quality scores across the organization.
A visionary and inspiring leader, Dr. Patel is as passionate about community leadership as he is about patient care. He works every day to ensure the organization has the resources and culture it needs to provide exceptional healthcare in an environment of compassion and trust. A board-certified family physician and Certified Physician Executive, Dr. Patel received his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his residency at Scripps Family Practice Residency in Chula Vista. He received his MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. He is a CPCA board member and delegate to the CMA, and serves as the East County Region Director on the San Diego County Medical Society Board.
